Vintage Grolla Friendship Cup WOODEN PRIMITIVE HAND CARVED BOWL / LID with 4 SPOUTS

Unavailable

Hand carved  wooden  Friendship Cup or Gralla.     A grolla or gralla is simply a covered wooden wine  or coffee or " "caffè alla valdostana" vessel, usually with four to 8  spouts that has it's origins in the  Valle d’Aosta, a small region in the Alps of northwest Italy bordered by both France and Switzerland.   The contents are sipped from the spouts and passed around and not set down until it has been emptied.      This one is 6.5" across and nearly 5" tall from base to top of lid.

The condition is very good , But there is a chip  in the wood on one 2 of the spouts,  One is so small that it is not noticeable.  The other one is larger.        The inside is pristine.     The price has been marked down in consideration of the damage.

It weighs 1lb 4 oz without being boxed up,
