Vintage Goa Anglo-Indian Fall-Front Bureau Desk

This Anglo-Indian fall-front bureau in walnut is believed to date early to mid twentieth century and is done in an early 18th century style. It features elements of Queen Anne and George I design, characteristic of the furniture originating in the Goa region of India. It has wonderful brass strapwork on the hinges and mounts, drop handles on three panelled drawer fronts, ball feet, ebonized molding and a fitted interior. Measures 35" wide, 19.5" deep and 46" high. Desk height is 29" One drawer pull is missing and there is no key. This item resides in Red Bank NJ and may be seen by appointment. A similar desk of the 18th period appears on page 527 of Miller's Antiques Price Guide 2007, published in the UK by Octopus Publishing Group Ltd.
