Rare Vintage Fenton Glass Blue Carnival Pansy Pattern Handled Dish. Fenton Glass was established in 1905 by Frank and John Fenton in Martin's Ferry, Ohio, their earliest pieces were hand painted on blanks from other glass companies. Unable to get the quantity of glass they needed, they decided to make their own glass and 1907 the opened their own glass factory in Williamstown, West Virginia.
For 102 years, pieces made prior to 1973 are not marked with the Fenton Logo. Fenton has hand crafted some of our loveliest American collectible art glass and continues to be a family run business.
This piece is blue carnival glass, it has the hard to find Pansy pattern, absolutely beautiful! It was made from 1970 to 1980, is 5 1/2" across not including the handle and about 2 1/4" deep. It is marked on the bottom with the Fenton logo and is in excellent condition, no chips.
