Original Egyptian revival jewelry was made and sold to the tourists who visited the opening of King tut's tomb. The expeditions that eventually led to the discovery in 1922 of the treasure of Tutankhamun's tomb by the archaeologist Howard Carter, led to a third revival which is generally the period where most costume jewelry called Egyptian revival came from. Since then, the intrigue of Egyptian pieces has carried thru to this century. This copper and gold burnished locket necklace measures 22" long around the neck and has a wide 1/4" double link antiqued brass chain. The drop measures 2 1/8" long and has two golden glass faceted ends that are on the fancy filigree wide  bar that holds the locket. The locket measures 1 1/4" long. Made from vintage parts this even has a genuine turquoise bead on the drop.    VintageSparkles offers Layaway on all our Etsy pieces regardless of which site it comes from.
