Here we have a vintage Federal style spool armchair. The chair is black with gold trim indicative of the Hitchcock chairs of the 1800’s. The tablet crest rests on the stiles and just below it is a very nice lattice style splat. In the center of the splat is a floral inlay with each pedal made up of wood grain. The back legs are sabre style and the front legs are spooled from the arms to the floor. The upholstery is fresh so there are no rips, tears, stains or odors. The seat is nice and deep with a wide stance for extra comfort. There are lots of nicks and scuffs in the black and gold paint. They add to the patina of the piece. This is a great chair. I do not know the maker or exact date it was made. This piece is vintage and will not be perfect. This chair measures 34 1/8 inches tall, 23 5/8 inches side to side and 22 3/4 inches front to back. It weighs 20 pounds. We do have more photographs that we can email if you are interested.
