This 3" high vintage tin contains a tiny amount of ground Thyme. It is labeled Durkee ground THYME NET WT. 1-1/8 OZ. Leaf and flower borders surround the top and bootom of the spice tin. The back reads: THYME Use just a bit in melted butter or margarine for topping hot vegetables. Also for beef stew, corned beef hash, roast beef, meat loaf, veal, pork, lamb; stuffings; poultry; fish; cheese or egg dishes; green salads; green beans, peas, tomatoes, split pea or vegetable soup. One side has a SCM logo and reads DURKEE FAMOUS FOODS SCM CORPERATION, CLEVELAND, OH. 44115. U.S.A. The tin's paint is dirty, but in good condition with only a very little bit of rust. I do not know the age of the tin, but there is no bar code and the bottom has an ink stamped price of 65 C. When was a name brand spice 65 cents? I remember ink stap prices on items in the 50s. Later came price stickers and then bar codes.
