Chinoiserie Japanned Vermillion Red Cupboard Cabinet

This lovely cabinet in the chinoiserie style dates from the mid twentieth century and is believed to have been crafted in France. It measures 6' 10"/ 82" (208 cm) tall and 25" (61 cm) deep, and 43.5" (110 cm) wide and features a gabled cornice above a case fitted with paneled cupboard doors and lower section with single paneled drop front, and decorated throughout with painted and gilt designs in the chinoiserie style. May be used as a bar, cupboard or bookcase.
Condition is good. There are dents, scratches and surface wear, and noticeable scuffs to the flat surface below the upper section, plus some chip losses from the front lower edge of the top cornice. There is a long scratch across the face of the base. There is a vertical cracks to upper left door.
