Vintage Rock Crystal Gemstone & Diamond Floral Bouquet

Unavailable

This magnificent floral bouquet features flowers carved from frosted rock crystal and rose quartz, with gold plated stems emanating from a rock crystal pot with pedestal believed to be made from black obsidian.  The berries are believed to be carnelian, and the leaves are carved out of Russian nephrite. Each of the ten rose quartz flowers three faceted diamonds (each approximately 2 mm across) for a total of 30 diamonds.  Original gift box included.  Condition is excellent.  There is a scratch on the side of the bowl, and one missing berry, but otherwise no signs of damage or restoration.  This item dates from the mid-twentieth century.  The maker is unknown and we have not found any hallmarks. Its details and craftsmanship are world-class, in keeping with the floral carved gemstone designs from Faberge, and those of Manfred Wild of the Emil Becker firm in Kirschwiler, Germany, and Herbert Klein of Idar-Oberstein, Germany.  Similar items were retailed by Cartier in the 1960s and 1970s, and by Asprey in England in the early/mid twentieth century, Box measures  (13.75 by 19.25 in (34.9 by 48.9 cm), and the item measures approximately 15 in (38.1 cm) tall.  Additional images forwarded upon request.
