Vintage Black, African American Mammy & Chef Salt and Pepper Shakers. The chef is holding something in his hand. Perhaps it is a butchers knife. The mammy or house maid has a little maids cap with a typical maids uniform.
They both measure approx 3” tall.
These are original and vintage. Any marking have long since worn off. They still retains much of the cold paint.
These salt & pepper shakers from the 1930's 1940's were mass produced in haste. The manufacturing process in unsophisticated therefore leaving mold seams visible occasional blip or pock mark.
These do shoe some manufacturing flaws that are not considered damage. The side mold seams are visible especially so on the chef. The mammy or maid has a dimple on her back side. The chef has a blip and pock mark on his foot. I don't think it is a fleabite but I cannot say for certainty.
The maids cork is not in place but it is rattling around inside.
