Vintage Balinese Antique Coin Wall Hanging

Unavailable
Vintage hand-crafted wall hanging in the manner of traditional Balinese coin statues from the Indonesian island of Bali. This piece is most likely made from antique Chinese coins, probably bronze. Chinese coins were common in Bali beginning in the 7th and 8th centuries. This wall hanging appears to be a male figure, possibly a Hindu god. The body is made from 90 - 100 coins lashed together with cord into the shape of a body and then attached to a green felt backing. Gilded, carved wooden hands, feet, and head are attached with cord. The head and body are adorned with gilded neck, arm, and wristbands, collars, belts, and sashes made from a rubber-like material that has been punched with designs. The piece measures about 18.5 inches high. It is in very good condition, intact, with some aging and fading of the felt backing. Please refer to the 4 photographs for appearance and condition. Shipping / packaging will be $12.00.
