Vintage Assumption Abbey Brandy Advertising Monk Plaster or Chalkware Bottle Stand from the 1960's.
This is a very unique and rare piece! It is quite large and heavy, almost eight pounds in weight, most likely was a store advertising piece. There is a monk holding grapes and cutters, next to him is a recessed place for a bottle to fit and be displayed. Not sure if it would be considered plaster or chalk ware, it has a heavy coat of paint on it that has a sort of semi gloss finish.
The base of this piece is 12 1/2" long and 4 3/4" wide, it is 17 3/4" tall, has Assumption Abbey Brandy in raised letters across the base. It is in fairly good condition, does have some chips along the base, spots that are missing paint, are the end of the monk's nose, a few of the grapes, various little spots on the robe and a couple little spots on the hair, please click on the enlarge picture tab to see these spots up close. I do think these could easily be professionally repaired if desired.
This is a very unique piece that is seldom seen. Shipping is less for combined purchases then the above quoted individual cost per item combined and will be adjusted after your order is placed.
