Very handsome, vintage Armetale Imported Suntory Beer tray / sign, with large raised Japanese symbol in center and 6 small impressed symbols around the edge. Wilton Armetale has been making hand-cast and hand-finished pieces in Lancaster County, PA since 1892. Armetale is an aluminum alloy which, in the matte finish, resembles pewter. This piece is marked on the bottom WILTON, MOUNT JOY, PA, USA and has 3 trademarks, including RPW which are the initials of the company's found Ralph P. Wilton. Also on the back, near the bottom is IMPORTED BY SUNTORY INTERNATIONAL CORP., NEW YORK, N.Y. SOLE U.S. DISTRIBUTOR ASSOCIATED IMPORTERS, NEW YORK, N.Y., as well as the original paper label. This great piece measures approximately 15.5 inches by 9.5 inches, is .75 inches high and has a hanger on the back for hanging on the wall.
