Vintage Kokeshi Japanese Traditional Wood Doll Handmade from wood, Koeshi doll has a simple trunk and an enlarged head with a few thin, painted lines to define the face. The body has a Japanese traditional wear design painted and covered with a layer of wax. She is older and the wood shows it's age by some slight pit marks on her head and a small line in her bangs. Then there is a very small slight dent in her torso. It is possible that these inconsistencies were there in the beginning as part of the wood grain and these dolls are hand made.
