About The Poster: This vintage advertisement comes from Il Popolo d'Italia, an Italian newspaper founded by Benito Mussolini in 1914. Full of articles of interest, gossip, and some wonderful period advertising, this small full page announcement was for the Posta Aerea - Italy's air mail service. The small planes - flying in tandem - harken back to the early days of flying, and the romantic countryside visible underneath is so typically Italian that you can almost smell the pasta brewing on the stove. The print is colorful, linen backed, and in good condition.
