Vintage 14KT gold Acorn Cufflinks Ballou & co 12 grams wedding gift

Unavailable

These vintage 14kt gold ( marked on the inside) acorn cufflinks are made by B.A. Ballou which has been making cufflinks for over 130 years. As one of the oldest manufacturers of high end cufflinks, they are very hard to come by in 14 kt gold. People usually keep then and don't sell them. These are victorian acorns (The oak, oak leaves and acorn can stand for power, authority or victory. Often seen on military tombs. In parts of Great Britain, young ladies followed a custom of wearing an acorn on a string around their neck. It was believed that this was a talisman against premature aging.) and they measure 1" long and not only have the Ballou mark ( B.A.B) and 14k, but also the patent numbers. These are in great condition less one being a bit twisted on the back so when you lay them down ( see photo 4) they are not both standing up . When on a cuff it should not matter. What a great gift for a wedding or anniversary!
