This beautifully carved early walnut Victorian sofa is a great size. The oval shaped back has the most finely carved sprig of flowers as its crest. The life like looking pair of roses is flanked by leaves and other flowers. The carvings are deep and masterfully executed. The arms and legs are extremely curvaceous and delicate looking. The shapely seat is wide and generous in size. The couch rests on its original brass casters. The frame is tight, having no breaks or repairs. The finish is in excellent condition having the richest color and desirable patina. The cranberry colored fabric has extensive wear on the arms. Amazingly, the sofa is quit5e comfortable. Its size is perfect for a parlor or bedroom.
