This lovely upholstered ladies parlour chair or small love seat features a curved seat-back with straight wooden splats on one side, solid wooden seat back with carved, sinuous flower stems and petals. This chair likely dates from the mid-to-late Victorian or Art Nouveau periods. Believed to be made of solid mahogany. Measures 39" long by 34" high by 23" deep. Heavy, tightly woven Italian tapestry material upholstery was applied to the button-back seat and seat back in 1984, and its still very clean with no stains and shows no wear. It has a multi-colored floral design of blue and red on a neutral-colored background. Accent pillow included. Original horse hair stuffing was retained when chair was reupholstered. Finish is not original. Original brass caster fittings in front and 3 of 4 original wooden casters. This item resides in Jersey City NJ 07302. Additional images forwarded upon request.
