Victorian Oak Barber's Chair

Check out this Victorian oak barber’s chair.  The chair is extremely comfortable making the perfect recliner!  The back of the chair measures 44” tall to the top of the cushion.  The headrest has a cast iron mechanism for adjusting up or down and for tilting back and forth.  The spring which adjusts just the height is loose, making the headrest’s taller positions difficult to stay in place.  This does not affect its current, standard height of 49.5” tall.  The button tufted back cushion and seat is framed in oak.  There is a cast metal foot pedal on the side which adjusts the back in a variety of reclining positions.  Notice how the padded arm rests are hinged to adjust with the reclining back as well.  The sides of the chair frame have ornately carved oak panels and trim.  Below the chair seat is its original cast brass Crescent label.  The oak foot rests also adjusts with the chair as it reclines.  The fabric covered foot rest pivots to accommodate the changing positions of your feet.  The burgundy/wine colored velvet fabric is in very good condition.  There are 4 very small light soil spots on the seat.  The back side of the chair has its fabric removed.  This can be easily replaced with a complimenting fabric or when reupholstering to your preferred color.  There is a cast metal handle on the side which locks in the chair seat and prevents it from rotating or swiveling.  Notice the fancy cast iron base with four paw feet.  The reclining pedal works perfectly smoothly.  The oak frame and finish is in excellent condition.  What a conversation piece for your game or family room!
