This lovely early walnut Victorian marble top washstand is in excellent condition. The original marble has a tall shapely back and 2 half round candle shelves. There is some very slight staining on the back and one shelf, but nothing offensive. There are no breaks or repairs. The base has one hand-dovetailed drawer over 2 doors. All have fancy burled walnut fronts. Notice the applied delicate moulding and turned wooden pulls on the drawers. It maintains its original lock. Each recessed paneled door has ornate ripple moulding. The door retains its original working lock and a key. Inside is a single shapely cut shelf. The finish appears original and in excellent condition having a rich, warm color and patina. There is about 3” of astragal on the door missing.
