Check out this wonderful walnut Victorian dresser in the Renaissance Revival style. The removable mirror has a large boldly carved crest with fancy turned finials. The mirror tilts for ease in viewing. Notice the 2 small shelves on either side of the mirror and the 2 small drawers or glove boxes. Look closely and you will see that the ring pulls on the glove boxes are wooden - not the typical metal ones! The mirror appears original and is in excellent condition. The marble has a moulded edge with canted corners. The original marble has a subtle stain, but there are no cracks or chips. Check out the outrageous drawer fronts with raised burled walnut panels and layers of bold, intricate carvings. Notice how the key escutcheons and drawer pulls are cleverly imbedded in the carvings. All the drawers retain their original working locks. Check out the hidden drawer in the base of the dresser. This is referred to as a slipper drawer. There are additional carvings on the canted corners of the case as well. The dresser rests on casters. The finish is in excellent condition, having the richest color and very desirable patina.
