Here is a hand to find set of 9 solid walnut Victorian dining chairs in the Renaissance Revival period. There is a 10th matching side chair which has damage and is available for free when purchasing the set. The set consists of 2 arm chairs and 7 side chairs. The armchairs measure 43” tall, 25.5” wide and 26” deep. The side chairs measure 38” tall, 20” wide and 21” deep. The chairs have a triple arched open back with a central carve d cartouche. These chairs are amazingly comfortable. The chairs have a slight curve to the backs. The seats have springs and are well padded. They rest on carved and trumpet fluted legs. The seats are covered in leather looking rich turquoise colored fabric with tacks. The fabric is in excellent condition except for one small 1.5” diameter subtle stain on the front of one armchair. Some of the tacks on some of the chairs show light wear but are all present. The right arm of both chairs show an older professional repair where it meets the back. This is to expected and does not compromise its integrity or aesthetics. Oddly, four of the seven side chairs have brass casters on their legs where the other 3 do not. They are all the same height. One side chair has a piece of carving missing on the top of one leg. The two armchairs retain their original casters. All the chairs are tight and do not wobble. They appear to retain their original or an older refinish and are in excellent condition, having a rich color and patina.
