This vintage postcard is in good condition. There is a photo of the front and back so you can see postmarks, cancellations, writing, images and condition. This postcard is of two cats playing with a box. A Happy New Year card and a Private Mailing Card from 1905. In 1898 Congress passed the Private Mailing card ACT which allowed private publishers. The public could mail this private mailing card at a different rate instead of the letter rate No. 2. USPS wanted postcards distinguished from those being produced privately. It required that private publishers print a Private Mailing card in May 1898. This is exclusively for the address.Carte Postale which indicated it was allowed to enter the International mail system. The card is signed by Adolph Hummel. Sold as found.We are not postcard experts.
