A very nice Victorian 14K yellow gold stick pin in the form of an elephant. The leathery skin of the elephant is nicely worked in a very realistic fashion. The eye is set with a small cabochon ruby. The pin shaft is engraved in twisted pattern typical of earlier Victorian stick pins. Tested and guaranteed 14K. Origin: America, ca. 1870. Condition: excellent, all original. Size: overall length, 2-5/8; head, 17/32 x 3/8. Weight: 2.9 grams.
