What a spectacular cupboard! The form and styling are unique and the quality is superb. Notice the extremely bold overhanging cornice. Below are 2 raised paneled doors with deep mouldings. Even the sides have raised panels. The hinges and key escutcheons are works of art. They are exquisitely cut and obviously handmade. Inside is one long shelf. The 2 hand dovetailed drawers have recessed paneled fronts. The ornate scrolling hardware is repeated on the pulls. All the doors and drawers have their original working locks. This cabinet comes apart in 2 sections for ease in transporting. The open base provides a wonderful display area for large items such as stoneware or copper pots, etc. Notice the heart shaped cutouts on the sides and the boldly carved scrollwork. The base has four large raised panels. This cabinet is wonderfully built. The thickness of the wood and carvings attribute to its boldness and commanding appearance. The finish is original and in excellent condition having a deep color and patina. This cupboard will command attention in any room of the house.
