Beautiful Doulton, Burslem sugar bowl in a flow-bue pattern similar to their Iris and Chrsyanthemum designs. This one is a climbing dogwood-style rose. Bowl has a pagoda lid with flame finial in silver plate. Swing handle. There is spatter gilding to the top of the pattern, and a cobalt blue border with small floral pattern in gilt. Impressed mark "Ivory" and printed Doulton Burslem mark for circa 1891 to 1902. (Before they received their Royal Warrant and became Royal Doulton). Item measures about 6.1/2 inches high with the handle up, and 5.1/2 inches high with it folded down (16.5 cm and 14 cm respectively). About 4.1/4 inches diameter (10.8 cm). Excellent condition.No wear to the plate.
