TURKISH KELIM PILLOWS 1920s-1930s PAIR AUTHENTIC ANTIQUE BESSARABIAN

Unavailable

These decorative accent pillow covers have been made from authentic, antique Bessarabian kelim rugs which date from the 1920s or 1930s. The kelim is a pile-less flat-weave textile produced in Turkey---these two are from Anatolia---from the wool of goats, sheep and lambs. Known for their unique geometric motifs and designs and great palette, these tribal rugs trace their origins back to circa 1000 B.C. The hand-made weaving techniques have been passed down from generation to generation. The pillows are sold as a pair. Each pillow cover measures approximately 15 x 16 inches and is backed with fabric with a zipper to accomodate the polyester pillow inserts. The inserts are included, so you don’t have to go searching for ones of a comparable size. It’s already been done for you. The pillow covers have been freshly dry-cleaned and are ready to accentuate your sofa, a favorite chair or even your bed.
