This is a very good used dial speed indicator, marked "TOTCO DISK SPEED INDICATOR B.S. MK. 15" on the black dial face, and "TOTCO LOS ANGELES MADE IN U.S.A." on the chrome body, on the back side of the dial. The outer dial is in 100 RPM, and the inner dial is in 1000 RPM increment, so the maximum reading is 10,000 RPM. This is a timer type indicator, push the button the gauge resets to "0", and begins the gauge speed. The indicator is in neutral while the timer is not on (it lasts about 10 seconds), so you can touch the tip to the motor shaft to begin the rotate of the indicator shaft before you begin gauging the speed by pushing the timer button. The rubber tip will come off (press fit), and you can also use the solid steel tip that is permanently attached to the indicator. The indicator is in very good condition overall, work fine when tested, very little wear, nice glass dial lens, and chrome case. Was very expensive when new! A nice government surplus (U.S. NAVY) gauge. No carry case with this one.
