An incredible souvenir spoon of the Brooklyn Bridge in the 1872 Vine pattern by Tiffany & Co. Tiffany made very high quality souvenir spoons, but rarely using one of their regular flatware patterns. The bowl is extraordinarily well decorated with a scene of the Brooklyn Bridge worked in niello enamel. Niello was a technique not often used by Tiffany. When it opened in 1883, the Brooklyn Bridge was one of the worlds architectural marvels, and it was only fitting that Tiffany & Co. would choose to honor the achievement. The back is stamped with Tiffany marks used 1875-1891.
Origin: America, ca 1883. Condition: some wear to the enamel decoration in the bowl; sharp detail on the handle. Size: 6 long.
