Thom McAn Shoes In Good New Summertime Ad 1954 this is a June 7, 1954 advertisement. It is a nice color ad from Thom McAn, a Division of Melville Shoe Corporation. Ad shows mans feet wearing tan oxfords with nylon mesh insert across the top of the foot. Ad reads, Not that Nylon mesh in shoes is exactly new. But it is a far cool cry form the breezeless brogues of five short years ago. Chunk of watermelon in the back ground. In mint condition. Photo is taken through plastic and may show wrinkles or crookedness that is not in the ad. This original magazine tear sheet measures 10 inches wide by 14 inches tall.
