Antique Union case with portrait of man.
Black thermoplastic. Front and back cast from the same Spanish Renaissance style mold. Very crisp molding meant to imitate tooled leather.
Inside contains a daguerreotype of a young man in civilian dress. The portrait is under glass in a fancy gold leaf frame. The left side has a beautiful burgundy cut velvet pad.
Circa 1850s - 1860s.
Measures 2-1/2 x 3 x 3/4 inches closed.
Very good condition. Only some very minor fleabites on edges. Corners good. No other damage or repairs to the plastic. The interior is clean and undamaged.
