A good, clean, First Edition copy of "The Royal Ballet : The First Fifty Years", by the highly regarded ballet critic Alexander Bland, with foreword by Dame Ninette de Valois, published by Doubleday and Company of Garden City, New York in 1981. During their first fifty years, the two Royal Ballet Companies, based on the Royal Opera House and Sadler's Wells Theatre, presented over three hundred and fifty productions. Their repertoire ranging from nineteenth-century classics to works by the most celebrated choreographers of the twentieth century. This volume, containing many rarely seen photographs, charts the progress and celebrates the success of The Royal Ballet since it's inception in 1931.
