One of the many books from the Estate of Francis P. Fretwell that we will be selling. The library is the largest privately owned collection of dog books in the world. Mr. Fretwell was the owner of Monfret Kennels, which bred champion standard poodles. He was former president and governor of the Poodle Club of America, and the Italian Greyhound Club of America. He also served as a delegate to the American Kennel Club for decades. His wonderful collection of books has been carefully maintained. *** The Quorn Hunt and Its Masters. By William C. A. Blew. Lists of masters, huntsmen, whipper¬ñins 1753-1898. Index. Errata. Covers are spotted. Edges and tips rubbed. Spine has faded, and there is some wear at the tail. Mr. Fretwell's bp on front free endpaper. Hugh Cecil, Earl of Lonsdale engraved heraldic bp on front fixed endpaper. Braxton B. Sawyer stamp on front flyleaf, and embossed stamp on title page. Interior pages have light age-toning but are otherwise clean and sound, plates clean and bright. VG+ condition.
