One of the many books from the Estate of Francis P. Fretwell that we will be selling. The library is the largest privately owned collection of dog books in the world. Mr. Fretwell was the owner of Monfret Kennels, which bred champion standard poodles. He was former president and governor of the Poodle Club of America, and the Italian Greyhound Club of America. Includes breed standard, judges in 1911 and 1912, English, Canadian and American champions, winners of 1911 and 1912, introduction and article on the breed and breeders in America by Arthur Boutwell Proctor, Airedale Terrier clubs in England and America, breeders¬í and kennel directory, etc. Covers have some edge wear and light soiling, prior owner's bp on front fixed endpaper, Mr. Fretwell's bp on front free endpaper, a touch of foxing on preliminary pages, overall clean and sound. VG+ condition.
