The Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters Original 1938 Charter for the Chattanooga Division and Pullman Porter's Hat. February 10, 1938 Certificate of Affiliation in original period frame. Frame measures 15"X27.5". The Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters were the first labor organization led by African-Americans to receive a charter in the American Federation of Labor (AFL). Obtained from the estate of an Atlanta Union and Civil Rights attorney.
