One of the many books from the Estate of Francis P. Fretwell that we will be selling. The library is the largest privately owned collection of dog books in the world. Mr. Fretwell was the owner of Monfret Kennels, which bred champion standard poodles. He was former president and governor of the Poodle Club of America, and the Italian Greyhound Club of America. He also served as a delegate to the American Kennel Club for decades. His wonderful collection of books has been carefully maintained. *** The Boxer. By John P. Wagner. Complete information on breed history, development, characteristics, breeding, feeding, care and management. Family Tree of the German Boxer with an alphabetical listing of Boxers appearing in the family tree. Later edition of the first book on the breed in the English language. Covers have moderate edge wear. Back cover has top tip missing, also several back pages with top tips missing. Mr. Fretwell's bp on front fixed endpaper. Interior pages have age-toning but are otherwise clean. Good condition.
