Description: Aldro T. Hibbard, N.A. American 1886-1972. Oil on board. Vermont landscape "Frozen River". Titled reverse. 16" x 20" in carved gold frame. Signed. Hibbard studied with Decamp and Tarbel. He was a member of the National Academy, Guild of Boston Artists, North Shore Art Assoc, and Rockport Art Assoc. He won many prizes during his career. He is represented in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Boston Museum of Fine Art, Currier Gallery, Rockport Art Assoc, and many other museums. He was a founding member of the Rockport Art Assoc. He taught summer classes in Rockport and painted in the winter in E. Jamaica, VT. This painting tipifies the Boston School post-Impressionist style.
