Wonderful Art Deco tabletop Taylor barometer, temperature gauge, and humidity gauge in bakelite case, patented 1926. This multi-purpose instrument has a barometer in the center with a manual needle which allows you to measure changes in barometric pressure. It has a temperature gauge on the left side which ranges from 30 to 110 degrees and indicates the "Health Zone" of 68 - 72 degrees. On the right is a humidity gauge which ranges from 0 to 100 percent and indicates whether the humidity is in the low, normal, or high range. The dials are on a two-toned gold background with black letters and numbers. Glass covers the instrumentation. The case measures approximately 5 inches high, 8 inches wide, and 2 inches deep. It is in bakelite and brass, with a strong deco design. The back is brown metal with 4 vent areas and a round metal plate. "ROTATE THIS PLATE UNTIL ARROW ON THE CASE POINTS TO THE ALTITUDE OF YOUR LOCALITY." The altitude gradations range from 0 feet to 3500 feet. The plate also indicates the patent no. 1612344 which dates to 1926. This piece is in very good to excellent condition, with no cracks, chips or damage. There is light surface wear.
