An English tankard. Made by James Dixon & Son, Sheffield, England, circa 1880 for the Causeway Hotel. Brittania Metal which is sheet pewter with a high antimony content in the alloy. Used for fabricating i.e. shaping,stamping, rolling-not casting. There is Dixon's trumpet and the number 499 on the base. 5" high, 4.1/2" wide, 4.1/2" deep. No damage.
