Stunning large Italian bench 18th century with original gilt scrolled and hand carved thick frame. Abundance of acanthus leaf and small rose carvings with open work mixed within cover the frame on all sides and short cabriole legs with escargot feet. Newly upholstered with an antique cream brocade fabric and matching gemp. The springs and padding replaced and packed tightly for superior comfort on the thickly padded seat and arms giving substantial weight to the piece. Very minor wear to the gilt that only shows the red base paint in tiny sections here and there along the frame. Overall excellent condition. Measures 58L X 26W X 34H.
