Superb Antique German Saxon Sword

Outstanding antique circa 1900 A.D. German - Saxon officer's sword. Details: A chiseled and gold gilt bronze hilt with a lion's head pommel. A knuckle guard incorporating a crowned Saxon heraldic shield. One langet with an appliquéd silver Royal cipher AR (Augustus Rex). A silver wire bound shark skin covered wooden grip. A slightly curved piped back heavy and very sharp single edged blade etched and gold gilt at one side of the forte with a crowned Shield of Arms of Saxony supported by two lions and with a ribbon below with the motto "Providentia Ememor " the other side is an engraved and gilt with Royal initials surmounted by a crown with the word "Eisenhauer". The back of the blade is signed by the maker Mathias Muller Leipzig. The sword is in its original steel scabbard with a brown finish. Overall length with the scabbard: 101 cm (39 3/4 in). The sword is in very good condition.
