Sunny 1936 Vintage Vogue Deco Era Ad- Olivia de Haviland, Warner Brothers Latest Lovely Discovery, Adores Catalina Swimsuits designed by Orry Kelly!- Early Pin-Up Photo Artwork. Absolutely Wonderful and Unusual Original Vintage Deco Ad taken from the pages of a May, 1936 issue of Vogue. While promoting starlets is nothing new, Warner Brothers Studios pulls out all the stops here for the soon to be famous Miss Olivia de Haviland. Charming and Youthfully lovely Olivia sports in the sun at a tony Palm Springs resort, looking fetching and chic in a new and novel swimsuit made for Catalina by none other than Warner's top designer, Orry Kelly. Orry Kelly was responsible for studio wardrobes, creating all of the variant glamorous looks of screen notables such as Kay Francis and that other girl on the rise, Bette Davis. Olivia had only made a handful of film but was showing signs of transforming into a true star by the time this ad assignment came along. This is a fantastic image of her between the time she was featured in Captain Blood and Anthony Adverse! Great nod to studio designer Orry Kelly as well.
