This is a stunning large Victorian style partner's desk, masterfully crafted in burr walnut with gilded tooled leather inserts on the top surface.

The desk is finished on all sides and can stand in the middle of a room. Partners desk were made with drawers on one side and drawers and cupboards on the other, making it possible for two people to work at the same time, hence the term "partners desk".

This grand desk has a very solid construction, with a total of seven drawers on the front, three of which are along the top level. The bottom two drawers are extra deep.

The back of the desk features a modesty panel and a useful slide as well as dummy drawers that actually open as cupboards. Each drawer has brass drop handles. Above the cupboard doors are three further drawers.The three sectioned tooled leather inserts are gilded in gold leaf.
