Sterling silver, footed heart-shaped jewelry box, London, 1906, William Comyns - maker. The lid is decorated with a pastoral scene of a man, woman and child, surrounded by trees and vines; there is a house in the distance. The sides of the box are decorated with scenes of what appears to be a gentleman proposing marriage to a lady, two seated women talking, etc. The underside of the lid is gilded. The box is lined in burgundy velvet.
