Steelcraft Yankee Type Push Drill 1940's

$32.00
Quantity available: 1

This is a nice clean vintage 1940's, used, spiral push drill w/ 3 different sized spiral drill bits (that are the same as the ones that fit the Stanley Yankee drills, (from 5/64" to 11/64") that store in the handle. It is marked "STEELCRAFT GERMANY" on the nickel plated area between the handle and the knurled nut. It measures 10" long overall extended without the drill bit. The steel spring chuck and spiral system are in good usable condition with very little wear. Nickel plating is about 80% intact, most of the wear on the shaft that moves in and out, some brass showing through. The bits are removable, and have a .168" diameter shank. Steelcraft made several quality tools like this one for export to the U.S.A. just after WWII. I have to rate this tool to be as good as the North Brothers Yankee of the same period. In fact it appears to be made using the same design as the Yankee No. 41, but it is a bit longer. A very nice, clean, vintage spiral push drill!
