Circa 1934 State of Pennsylvania coat of arms embroidered on silk. This kind of embroidery was done in Japan around the turn of the Century catering to Western visitors who had them custom made as souvenirs or memorials of their voyage to the Far East. Silk fabric is mounted on the reverse on an old Japanese newspaper. Early depictions of this blazon, such as the one painted by John Rutter in 1785 to replace the Royal arms in use before Independence, tend to have white horses and later ones black horses. In very good used condition with minor imperfections to frame as shown. Shipped fully insured with tracking number. Measurements: Frame: 25.5"by 23.5" approximately: Embroidery: 22" by 20" approximately. Dimensions to the lower right refer to package size and weight for the purpose of estimating shipping costs.
