Starrett Micrometer Head Long Range 1-3 inch & Gauge

Unavailable

Offering this rare special purpose micrometer gauge and head. The gauge looks much like a production V-Anvil micrometer, yet this is a special purpose gauge, including the micrometer head that we have never seen before in that the range is in inch graduation from 1" to 3" in .001" graduations. As far as we can see the gauge is not designed to gauge round parts, but most likely to gauge some sort of oblong or rectangular shaped part with perhaps angles on the ends of the oblong shape. When we inserted a round part, the micrometer will not read correctly for that diameter. The micrometer head is in very good shape, it is marked "THE L.S. STARRETT CO. ATHOL MASS. U.S.A.". Turns smoothly and has a good thread spindle break. Very good used condition overall, no wear noted, clean! It can be removed from this gauge by releasing it via a thread machine screw holding it in a pinch type hold on the gauge nech area. The gauge appears to be in very good shape no rust anywhere, one lightly etched name near the V area of this gauge anvil. A rare and interesting gauge and micrometer head.
