This is a nice vintage slide calculator marked "THE L.S. STARRETT COMPANY CUTTING CHART FOR BAND SAWS & HACK SAW BLADES". This calculator has the band saw information on the front, hacksaw information on the back, both are slide card type, where you pull the card though and align your choice, then read the corresponding information in the view window of the outside of the calculator. The chart gives the length and width of blades for a list of many band saws, then the lower section lists a long list of various metals and alloys you may choose from to get the correct "TEETH PER INCH" and "SPEED FEET PER MIN." needed to cut that specific material. The HACKSAW information side lists many materials to choose from, the window tell you the teeth per inch, for hand hacksaws, and the approx. strokes and feeds for power hacksaws also. A handy vintage reference calculator!
