Stanley No. 77 Mortise Marking Gauge Gage

$45.00
Quantity available: 1

This is a quality made mortise, marking gage that is not marked with the Stanley name, but is a Stanley made gauge. It is 7.5" long, has a total of 3 scribe point, one is adjustable via the end brass thumb screw. The main shaft is graduated by 16ths inch, from 0-3". It made of rosewood, with brass trim. It is complete with the brass pad under the slide thumb screw to protect the rosewood from damage when the screw is tightened. This gauge is nice, clean, no cracks or major chips, some small dings, and some wear on the slide on the opposite side of the brass inlaid plate, good threads, good points. I note that it appears this gauge was used for a period of time without the brass skid plate under the thumb screw, as some screw indentations can be seen, but don't effect the movement of the slide. A good user gauge!
