Stanley No 5 1/2 C Jack Plane 1920's
Offering this nice clean Stanley Bailey No 5 1/2 corrugated bottom, Jack Plane from the 1920's era. The plane is in very clean condition with about 30% the original Japanning intact. The bear metal surfaces good++ condition, no cracks or chips; a few minor edge dings noted, nice flat bottom working surface, clean, no rust. The 2 1/4 inch wide blade is very clean, ready to work, no cracks or chips; cutter is about 50% full original length, is sharp and in good working condition. The rosewood handle is solid and clean; no cracks, has been tested and is solid, a chip off the top section of the handle i noted in the pictures, still plenty of solid handle to grasp firmly. Rosewood knob is in good shape, solid and clean, minor dings, no chips, no cracks, very solid. Marked "BAILEY" in front of the knob, and "STANLEY MADE IN U.S.A." with the rectangular logo on the cutter, and "U.S. PAT. APR.19.10" in front of the handle, "NO.5 1/2" behind the handle. Overall condition is good+, some minor scratches, and edge dings, very nice, clean plane for your collection and/or use!
