Stanley Jointer Plane No. 7C Patented 1892

This is a very clean, antique jointer plane marked "STANLEY PAT.APR.19.92" on the cutter, (a very light stamp on the cutter, patent date hard to see) and "STANLEY" on the lateral lever, (with several very small stamped patent dates listed next to the Stanley mark) has the "No. 7" mark on the bed in front of the knob. This is a type 6A plane, and was only made in 1992 with the patent date on the blade like this one has.  Overall the plane is in very good working condition with some wear, but fully intact, and useable. It has two hairline cracks in the each side of the bed, behind the tote area.  The bed is still flat, and it appears that the two hairline cracks are not due to abuse, but most likely a casting issue.  It have used this plane over the years, and it cuts great.  The hairline cracks have never been repaired and are very tightly closed, but noted.  It has about 85% of it's original black Japanning intact. The front knob and rear tote are both rosewood, both solid in good shape, no cracks, other than to the chipped off upper section of the tote as shown in the pictures. The tote or rear handle is about 95% intact and is solid. The cutter is sharp and ready to use and is about 90% stock intact, plenty of stock for resharpening. The bare metal has a slightly darkened patina, some minor scratches, and some owner marks or files grooves noted on one side bed rail, the sole is corrugated and very flat. The cap cover is in good+ shape, no nickel plating. Overall a very nice, clean jointer plane from the early 1890's era!
